Le Hong Anh appointed permanent member of Party Central Secretariat


The Politburo and the Party Central Standing Committee have assigned High-ranking General, Le Hong Anh, to hold the permanent membership of the Party Central Secretariat.

General Le Hong Anh is a member of the Politburo, Party Central Committee’s secretary and former Minister of Public Security.

The general will assume the new position, replacing Truong Tan Sang, who was elected as the President.

General Le Hong Anh, 62, was born in the southern province of Kien Giang. He has a bachelor of law and politics. He undertook various positions, including: Party Secretary of Kien Giang province, Vice chair and Chair of the Central Inspection Committee and Minister of Public Security.

He is a member of the Politburo of the 9th, 10th and 11th terms and deputy of the National Assembly of the 11th, 12th and 13th terms.

Earlier, the 13th National Assembly ratified the Prime Minister’s proposals on appointing the new cabinet. Lieutenant General Tran Dai Quang, a Politburo member, Deputy Minister of Public Security, was appointed as the new Minister of Public Security, replacing General Le Hong Anh.

The Politburo has also dismissed two Deputy Minister of Public Security – Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam and Lieutenant General Pham Minh Chinh, both Politburo members – to be Party Secretary of Ninh Binh and Quang Ninh provinces.
